I was

                  born, a man from China,
                                                          (ha,ha-ha)

    I was born.

                                       thatboy, I was.

(I poured the mouse into the guillotine to get to higher ground || well the toll was due)
                                                                                                "the toll was due"

                  but I, I, a man from China
                                                                 got blush burns by
                                                                 sipping breast milk
                                                                 from chippingfinechina
                                                                 in Rhode Island.

(i would never have been born)

,oh, darci, darci, oh,

                              I      want      you      back
                              and         other        things

here, Tarantulas cross the desert, carrying rhythm in their eyesockets, saying

In the desert--in the desert, I saw a creature, naked, bestial--

naked, bestial, who,            squatting upon the ground, held his heart in his hands,

                   AND
                                  ATE         OF              it--

in the summertime i go to missouri and take a load off where the toll is paid by homeless men
and in the wintertime i go to delaware and tell the girls there about gonorrhea and syphilis and
in the springtime i go to california and watch the world float away in the middle of the desert

I said,                           "is it good, friend?"

                (oh,darci,darci,there,is,no,autumn,here,darci)

       "It is bitter -- bitter"
                                                                             he answered,

"but I like it because it is bitter,

and because it is my heart."

tarantula, cross the desert, shedding past pretenses in its wake filling the so-flat land like

On Your Wings
Iron & Wine

God, there is gold hidden deep in the ground
God, there’s a hangman that wants to come around

How we rise when we’re born
like the ravens in the corn
on their wings, on our knees
crawling careless from the sea

God, give us love in the time that we have

God, there are guns growing out of our bones
God, every road takes us farther from home

All these men that you made
how we wither in the shade
of your trees, on your wings
we are carried to the sea

God, give us love in the time that we have.

Violin. Mmmah. and Iron & Wine.

I'm sure I was listening to other songs, some classical/orchestra, and some Throwing Muses. A little bit of Tori Amos and Damien Rice, too.

Rasputina and Ani Difranco too, actually. And 'I Like Giants' by Kimya Dawson; 'Ooh La' by The Kooks.

I guess that's it.

(Today folks, I want advanced critique on the piece as it already is, not ways I could fix it, or change it, or make it better. I just want to hear what you think is good, and what isn't. And why--I want whats and whys, no hows or wheres.)

Oh. Tom Waits too. 'God's Away On Business'

yes.

'In the desert' ([link]) is fully functioning as Stephen Crane's poetry, and he's a great man, and I love to twist what Christian Literature claims as the meanings to his poems.

I will never believe that they mean what they say they mean. Ever in my life.

Life is bigger, so much bigger than a deity, so much bigger than a Greater Meaning.

Every word of Crane's I adopted is underlined. And oddly enough, he was of no inspiration here.

That's awesome, the incorporation of other poems and this piece! I haven't had a chance to read any of your work lately and it makes me sad, but this was amazing!

Watch your thoughts, they become words. Your words=actions, your actions=habit. Your habits=character. Character-Destiny. While you're at it, watch me! [link]

And we part, at this.

And we part. At. There.

and we all lived a Serving Size life, with insignificant sources.
the end.

which could also mean:

we love you too, the words themselves and I. Though I heard through the grapevine that they only want you for your money.

you never heard it from me, but I swear it's bound to be true eventually.

I have a mission for you,

I want you to find something, anything at all that I've written, that you don't like.

Frankly, that you just hate. because I want to see what you'd have to say about one of those
and it might make me feel a bit more human again.

That sounds wrong, backwards, so really it means I love you, :)
